How AI Agents pricing works in Pipefy

Written by Product Team

📌 What are AI Credits?

Pipefy AI Agents operate based on an AI credits model. Each time an agent is triggered to perform a task in your process, it consumes a set number of credits, depending on usage.

Each plan includes 1,000 single-use AI credits. After consumption, additional credits can be purchased as add-ons of 500, 1,000, 10,000, or 50,000 additional credits.

⚙️ How AI credits are consumed

AI credits are consumed every time an AI feature runs in Pipefy. This applies to:

  • AI Automations

  • AI Agents (Behaviors)

Each execution consumes 2 AI credits, regardless of how many actions the agent performs in that run.

A few details worth knowing:

  • Credits are counted per behavior, not per agent. An AI Agent can have up to 5 behaviors, and each behavior that runs counts as its own execution — so it consumes credits independently.

  • Document Understanding adds 1 extra credit per run (3 credits total).

  • Calculations & Analysis adds 0.5 credit per execution when used.

  • Web search adds 0.5 credit per execution when used.

  • External connectors (MCP) run within the same rate — using them doesn't cost anything beyond the standard 2 credits per execution.

Practical examples:

  • An agent set to automatically fill in card fields when it is created (such as category, urgency, etc.) will consume 2 credits every time it is triggered.

  • If the trigger is conditional (e.g., only run the agent when the “type” field is equal to “reimbursement”), it will only consume credits when the condition is met.

Using your own model (BYOM)

If you connect your own AI model, credit consumption works differently.

🔄 What does NOT consume credits?

  • If the automation is active, but the AI Agent’s condition is not met → no consumption.

  • If the AI Agent receives more data than supported (such as more than 30 attachments in a single run - see more about limits here) → no consumption.

If there is a partial error (e.g., one field has an invalid format but others are processed successfully), credits will still be consumed because part of the execution was completed.

📌 Pro tip:

You can track your credit usage in the Admin panel > Usage stats > AI credits, within your Pipefy account.
