To use the Importer App, access any pipe of your choice and click the tools icon at the top right corner. Then, select Apps.

Open the Apps and click on Importer.

  • Enable the Importer App.

  • You can easily access it at the upper right corner of your pipe.

  • Once you enable it, you'll see this pop-up:

There, you can import data into:

  • This pipe: import new cards to this pipe;

  • Or, to a Connected Database Table: import new registers to any database that you have connected to this pipe.

    Note: you need to have the database created and connected before you begin your import process. To proceed with this option, select the database you want to update.

After choosing, the following screen is what you'll see:

Now, there are 3 options:

New import

Create an import from scratch, you'll need to match the fields in the pipe/database to the columns in the XLSX file before importing the data and creating the cards/registers.

Saved imports

Import a new spreadsheet using a previously mapped import.

Once you do your first import, you can save it as a template to use it again if you need to do recurring imports to your pipe/database);

History

View a history of all the previous imports in this pipe and connected databases.


Import from scratch

To begin a new import from scratch, you can either drag and drop your XLSX file into the window or click on it to select the spreadsheet you want to import. 

To import data from scratch, you can either:

  • Drag and drop an XLSX file into the Importer

  • Or, click on it to select a spreadsheet.

After uploading a spreadsheet, you'll need to match the data in your file's columns to the fields in your pipe or database. It's possible to match information to a pipe's fields and phases, or to a database's form fields.

You can also skip columns If you don't want to import data into any field.


Your spreadsheet must not contain any filters applied to the cells or any type of merged cells.


Once the matching is done, click the button at the upper right corner and voilà: the import will then be processed.

Please, wait a few minutes before checking it on your pipe or database.

If you're done importing, you can close this window and wait for the confirmation email. 

You also have the option of saving the import setup if you wish to use it again in the future.

Important observations:

  • You need to enable the Importer App on each pipe you want to import data into.

  • Importing data to a Database it's only possible if you've created and connected it to a pipe.

  • New cards will not appear on your pipe or database while importing. For that, refresh the page.

  • Once the importing is done, you'll be notified via email. If the App wasn't able to import all cards or registers successfully, you can check which rows weren't imported, and what's the reason.

  • Pipefy can only import data into one pipe at a time.

  • You can import data into any field in your pipe.

  • Ensure your spreadsheet doesn't contain any blank fields between columns (otherwise, the importing will present errors).

  • It's not possible to upload due dates, assignees, or labels unless you've created those fields in your pipe.

  • Cards created via Importer App will not trigger Webhooks that are listening for the "card.create" or "card.field_update" events for cards created through the import process, to avoid doing a DDoS to the service.

  • Cards created via the Importer App will trigger Email templates configured for the first phase and trigger Automations set with "When a card is created" for cards created through the import process.
