If you use Pipefy to manage multiple processes, you may want to connect them to transfer information from one pipe to another.

You can also connect pipes and databases to easily access records about customers, suppliers, products, or employees and add them to your process.

Connections are great to save time and share information across teams, so everyone in your company has access to the same data source.

In Pipefy, you are able to connect the entire process to a pipe or a database or a specific phase.

Here is how to do it:

Connect the entire process

Click on the Add connection button.

Click on Create new connection.

Next, you have to choose:

1. The connection's name

2. Which pipe or database you want to connect

3. The connection function, where you choose whether you want to:

  • Search among existing cards/records in the connected pipe/database and link them to the parent card.

  • Create new cards/records in the connected pipe/database.

  • Search and create cards/records in the connected pipe/database.

4. The number of connected items, that is, if you want to connect a single card/record in the parent card or multiple cards/records.

5. Advanced options: Click on the switch button to activate or deactivate these.

When you complete these steps, click on save, and that's it! Your connection is up and running!

Connect a specific phase

To connect pipes and databases to a particular phase in your process, use the connection field. It works just like any other field: you will add it to a form.

Open the form's editor and go to connection fields. Choose what you want to connect: a pipe or a database.

The next steps are:

  • Give it a name

  • Select the pipe or the database to connect

  • Inform the field function (search and/or create cards/records)

  • Determine the number of entries.

When you are done, click on save.
